Rental Policies

Reservations and Availability

Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged via our online platform to guarantee bike availability.

Rental Durations and Collection

Full-day rentals

Flexible collection times available during operating hours

Seasonal operating schedules:

Winter months: 9:30am – 4:30pm

Summer months: 9.00am – 5.00pm

Age Requirements and Supervision

All primary renters must be 18+ years with valid photo identification (driving licence or passport required). Minors aged 16-17 may rent with parental/guardian presence and signed consent. Children under 16 require constant adult supervision throughout the rental period.

Equipment and Safety

Complimentary safety helmets provided with every rental (strongly recommended for all riders). Each bike includes basic repair toolkit and security lock. Payment processing secured through your payment card, which serves as rental deposit.

Online Booking Process

Bookings require full payment up front

Important: Unclaimed rentals will be released 90 minutes after designated pickup time unless advance notice is provided via phone or email communication.

Customer Responsibilities

Renters assume complete responsibility for all actions while using our bicycles. Whitsand Bay Bike Hire disclaims liability for rider behavior or resulting consequences. Pre-rental safety inspection completed on all equipment - immediately report any concerns before departing.

Equipment Care and Damages

Customers are financially responsible for all damage beyond normal usage wear. This includes but is not limited to: tire damage from improper use, wheel damage from impacts, and component damage from negligence. Repair costs will be charged to the payment method on file.

Insurance and Personal Safety

Riders must arrange their own insurance coverage during rental periods. Whitsand Bay Bike Hire accepts no responsibility for personal injuries, accidents, or property damage occurring during bike use. All participants should dress suitably for weather conditions and cycling activity.

Return Requirements

Bicycles must be returned to authorized staff members only. Failure to return equipment will result in full replacement cost charges processed through stored payment details. Electric bike rentals restricted to customers aged 18+ only.

Booking Modifications

While we aim to provide specifically reserved bike models, we reserve the right to substitute equivalent or superior equipment when necessary. Please present booking confirmation upon collection.

Legal Provisions

These terms may only be modified through written agreement signed by Whitsand Bay Bike Hire management. Customer statutory rights remain unaffected by these conditions.
